Adventures in James land...

Life has been full of new, exciting discoveries for the little man. Here are some of the fun things he's been up to this past month!

Look at me in my cowboy hat... okay, it's a little big!

Tummy time! If I can just figure out how to move this little body so I can start crawling.

Pants on my head.

One of the perks of living in Utah - moose! We saw this "little guy" while driving up Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Grandma and Grandpa came out to visit in early September. For over a week they loved on James and were able to just experience life with our fun little guy. Hopefully they'll be back soon.

Snuggling with Grandma.

Watching TV with Grandpa... don't let Mom see me!

Hmm... what can I grab now?

Ohh... Grandpa, can I taste your beer?

Look at me - sitting all by myself!

I'm curious about everything!

I love Grandma and Grandpa!

Look at James in his cute little "Gillian Hate"... courtesy of Aunt Catie. Ok, his head is a little large. But - he apparently knows how to drink out of a cup - make that an extra large cup...

Ahh... so good.

James and Mama... we sure love this guy.

Can you believe James is almost 5 months old?! Reid and I are loving every moment of it... well, except those random nights when he decides to wake up at 3 am. More to come...

Let the eating begin!

Finally! James has had his first taste of "food" - and, surprise, surprise... he loved it! The little guy had been eyeing our food and eating way too many times during the day, so we thought, hmm... maybe it's time. We think he was relieved. It seemed like he knew exactly what to do. Here are some shots of the first food... and so we embark upon a new adventure!

Ok Mom... I'm ready!

The first bite...

Yummy!

All done! I was told he may eat a few bites then decide he was done - not this kid... he ate it all. He's taking after his Daddy who was lovingly referred to as the "Eatin' Machine" when he was just a little tike.

Whew. I'm full and I'm happy!

And just a few more pictures of James doing one of his favorite things... the Exer-Saucer! I wish you all could hear him babble and giggle as he plays with the toys - so cute!

Baby yawns are maybe the most precious thing ever.

And he loves to chomp and chew on the toys... he's actually "growled" a few times. Hilarious.

The little man...

Here he is again! James is almost 4 months old - can you believe it?! Here are some pics of the latest happenings in the little mans life... which mostly involves him being really cute and really fun. Enjoy!

He loves tissue paper! We were opening a gift and he was once again just amazed with the tissue paper. It is seriously so awesome to see the wonder on his face. It makes us stop and look around and notice the little, amazing things that surround us. Try it! It's fun.

James loves spending time in his saucer. He has figured out how to spin around and discover all the toys. He often laughs or makes funny noises as he plays. It's so fun!

Drum roll please... Ta-Da! While he's still a little wobbly, James has started sitting! It's crazy. Is he suppose to be doing this? What's next for this little stud?

What can I chew on now?

James has found that he enjoys putting things in his mouth these days...toys, blankets, his hands, our hands - but our favorite has been his attempt to put Reid's nose in his mouth! Silly boy! PS...isn't he oh, so cute with the haircut?!

The worlds cutest Bronco fan...sadly, his favorite player (ok, his mom's favorite player) has left the team - but we'll still represent!

Misery in July...I mean Missouri in July (It's hot)

James took his first airplane flights last week on our way to a Sprehe family reunion at the YMCA of the Ozarks in beautiful (but very hot - right Kris?) Missouri. There were roughly two thousand Sprehes present (which is way more than should be allowed in one place) and that was only about 1/10 of the clan (maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration, but there were about 80 people all related through Kalyn's great grandparents). We had a wonderful time catching up with the relatives we knew and meeting a bunch of others for the first time - yes the family is that big. Also, we got to do some great summer activities like a ropes course, a zip line, rifflery, archery and canoeing (I dumped K into the lake...she loved it). The highlight, though, was getting to share our little man with everyone. He was definitely a hit! Enjoy these pictures from the trip and check out the new posts below (Kalyn caught us up yesterday so there are a bunch of new pictures) -

We were able to meet Jessica Hunt and her family in St. Louis for lunch on the front end of our trip. It was wonderful to catch up and meet her daughter Hannah and for me to get to meet her husband Aaron.

Various pictures of the ropes course and zip line - it is wonderful to be able to be big kids again!

While in Missouri an exciting event occurred: James rolled over for the first time! K's family was excited that they were able to witness this move. Here's a pic of the big moment...we were too excited when he made it over to take a picture of the end result - but he's been practicing a lot since!

Four generations...Grandma Bev, Paul, K and James

James was showing off for all of us as he practiced standing up against the back of the couch.

Our little munchkin...chewin' on the hand.
